The Spring and the Fall Equinox
Coming up on 23 September at 00:05 UTC, we have the Spring and the Fall Equinox. That is the exact moment the sun crosses the celestial equator, and Earth's axis tilts neither toward nor away from the sun. In terms of what happens on Earth we see the beginning of Spring in the South and the onset of Fall in the North. But however you look at it its all about balance. Metaphysically, this represents the two sides at the centre of balance. With this threshold signifying a profound shift between the opposites of light and dark, action and rest, we are invited to pause, find our internal equilibrium, and honour the transition of the seasons.
The Spring Equinox in the South (12.05am NZST) time represents renewal, reawakening, and vitality. Honouring the return of light and bringing opportunities for rebirth and the beginning of new projects.
In the North, the “Fall” (autumnal) Equinox, represents gratitude, reflection, and releasing what no longer serves us. Perhaps a time for confronting our inner shadows as days grow shorter.
An Equinox meditation podcast …
Anyway you don’t have to remember all this because I will be recording an Equinox Meditation podcast and will be sending a link out this weekend. Ideally you would want to celebrate and meditate at the moment of the Equinox, but anywhere around that time or date still works fine. Here is a link to timanddate.com to work out the exact timing of the Equinox in your area.
Jeffree In the key of peace - LIVE!
If you are in New Zealand and in the Auckland area come on up to Matakana on Saturday 26 September and check out the Farmers Market from 8am. Then at midday at the old Morris and James pottery workshops, join me for a relaxing afternoon of being in the ‘Key of peace’ at the re-opening of the Nectar Cafe. Beautiful food, wonderful company and music out of this world is the flavour of the afternoon. This is a one-off performance …
See you there and thank you for sharing this …
May your peace be within
