6 Meditation Tips

Here's some tips to get you started on your journey.

Tip #1

Make meditation your first activity of the day

Meditate first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake. Turn on your meditation music, sit up on your pillows and begin. This will get you on track to creating a positive attitude toward the day ahead.

Tip #2

Combine meditation with other activities

It’s a good idea to create a few things that you do daily around your meditation time. Making meditation a part of your routine of activities in the morning will help you integrate it into a daily practice.

Tip #3

See every meditation as perfect

Try not to judge your meditation. There is no ‘bad’ or ‘good’ meditation. Every meditation is different and appropriate to where you are in your personal growth.

Tip #4

Remember the benefits of meditation

After each meditation, take a moment to notice how you feel - physically, emotionally and mentally. Have a journal handy and write down any thoughts, feelings or insights you may have had.

Tip #5

Set up your meditation space

Create a special space for meditating. Pictures of loved ones, artworks, candles, crystals and special memorabilia will add a warm and nurturing feeling to your special meditation space. Not forgetting of course – a good sound source for your music.

Tip #6

Meditate with others

Meditate with others now and again. The energy of a meditation group can create a deeper feeling in your meditation as well as being able to share ideas and insights. Attend meditation meetings or participate in online meditations.
