The Punctuated Equilibrium of Human Consciousness
In some ways, It’s been a distracting few months to the progression of my music releases and substack articles. However, Ive taken a lot of positives out of revisiting my thoughts since the book was first released in 2015.
With this new opportunity to have “In the Key of Peace” republished and promoted extensively, I was prompted to revisit the content with a view to bringing things up to date in areas that reflected a world almost fifteen years ago. While the new book retains its essential element of Inner Peace and what this brings to life, I have added in a few new chapters that reflect the growing popularity of living a spiritually human life today.
The article below titled Punctuated Equilibrium is a term used in biological evolution describing events that happen quickly by comparison to the unhurried and gradual rate of evolutionary change. This punctuated phenomena can effect the outcome, almost like a mid-course correction. I have referred to this in the revised edition of the book and have likened it to the recent and ongoing spike in the evolution of our own human consciousness.
So I’m looking forward to 2026 as being a year of expansion and positive opportunity. Ill keep you up to date as things evolve …
We are now, and have been for some time, in a period of great change. In the scheme of evolutionary consciousness, change is always happening, albeit so incrementally, that we are not always aware of its movement.
However, since the event of WW2 there has been a more dramatic shift in human consciousness. The shift reflects the changes that began in 1960s. The new baby boom generation amassed, and through its numbers, echoed the soul’s intention to be present and active at this time. Music was a huge reflector of the changes in human perception, attitude and action.
While the initial momentum of the change has since settled, there have been significant events occur since the 1960s that have reenergising and furthered the changes of the trailblazing boomers.
What is becoming obvious today, is that our potential in Science and Technology in all areas of life, is being realised far ahead of our mental and emotional potential … which has remained largely adolescent for thousands of years. The dilemma we find ourselves in, is ‘technology for technology’s sake’ is fast becoming a threat to human life and to the lives of all sentients in, and including Nature.
In order to overcome what we are creating around us, we need to quite literally “grow up” within ourselves. Our priorities will need to change, just as they do in the natural process of our own human maturing from adolescence to adulthood. We need to care for ourselves and our world, in order to sustain and advance the quality of life and longevity in our human existence.
Human consciousness is about the quality of our thoughts, words and actions. Our beliefs and attitudes at a personal and collective level perpetuate our internal and external realities. I believe humanity is heading toward another spike in our evolution that began in the 1960s.
The change will include an elevation in human perception that will uplift our present state of consciousness from a “victim mentality” to a “creator mentality”. Put simply, without the need for scientific confirmation, we will see the great potential that positive thought and feeling can have to our personal and collective lives and our subsequent realities.
The world to be, will be one of equality without diminishment. Once it begins (and it has) it will happen naturally, and things will just get better every day . . .
We will look back and see the path we have taken, and we will see the years of war and battle within and without. Years of darkness surmounted to get to where we are today. But I am reminded of what nature teaches through the life of one of the most beautiful flower heads on Earth.
